Mr. Smith is Founder and President of MJS & Associates, LLC. MJS is an Ohio based professional service practice specializing in Project Management Consulting services. Mr. Smith has 18+ years of extensive experience in software development project management with a strong concentration in customer relationship management, scope, quality, risk, scheduling & cost, and system integration management for the information technology, telecommunication, manufacturing, finance and insurance industries. Mr. Smith is formerly the National Director of Registered Education Provider Program for BDPA. He founded and developed project management curriculum for their Project Management Exam Preparation Seminar series and has taught Project Management Competencies workshops for the Help Desk Institute.

Mr. Smith began his professional career with American Computer Solutions where he supported, configured and managed implementation initiatives of computer and network hardware and software components for Fortune 500 companies in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. After leaving ACS, Mr. Smith served as a Help Desk Analyst with The Future Now Company, later known as XL Connect. Mr. Smith earned two Certified Novell Administrator certifications and was the subject matter expert for Netware implementation and support. Mr. Smith planned, designed, executed, and built several Netware labs for the support analysts to use while assisting priority customers with their networking and software needs. While at The Future Now, Mr. Smith was promoted to Help Desk Manager of the Intelligent Electronics’ valued-added reseller Help Desk where he and his team provided technical support and direction for IE’s 150 Value-Added Resellers across the U.S. In that role, Mr. Smith designed, managed and successfully implemented several process improvements initiatives that increased the help desk's productivity by 25%.

He earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2012; He earned a Bachelor of Science from Miami University, Ohio, and a Masters Certificate for General Project Management from George Washington University. He received his Project Management Professional Certification in August of 2002. He is a graduate of United Way’s Volunteer Development Leadership Program in 2003. He received his Help Desk Manager Certification from the Help Desk Institute in September of 2004. In 2008, he became a certified scrum master and in 2012 he became a Certified Scrum Professional. Mr. Smith has presented project management and agile software development white papers in front of audiences attending the IBM Rational Innovate Conference (2012); Annual NSBE Conference (2008, 2009 & 2011); Help Desk Institute's Annual Conference (2006 & 2007), and BDPA's Annual Conference (2007 & 208). Awards Mr. Smith has won include: Being honored as a recipient and member of the Entex President’s Club in 1998; earned the prestigious Atos Origin President’s Cup award in 2000; and has been honored as a facilitator at the BDPA and HDI National Conventions from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Smith is also the former president of MPA-Cincinnati (formerly the Microsoft Project Users Group). Mr. Smith is a proud active member of the Scrum Alliance, Project Management Institute, the Southwest Ohio Chapter of the Project Management Institute, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, BDPA, the Path to Agility, a Greater Cincinnati Agile Software Development Think Tank.
